Template Design

Blog Template Designer is one of the best feature in blogspot, through this you can attract people to visit your blog again and again, its neccessary that you can give colors to your blog/ site in such a way that your readers can read things easily and they can find your post easily, some time more colorful site or blog can ruin your visiters, and they did not come back to your site, becuase they feel difficulty in reading your blogs, its neccessary that you must devide your blogs in different topics, give headings to defferent topics, etc.
If you want to change the design of your blogs, goto Dashboard - Design and then Template Designer you will see the above screen, In the first screen you can change your Blog templates, you can change the background picture of your blog.

In Template Designer the above screen shows background settings of your blogs, such as if you want to change the background color of your blog, you can change it from here, if you want to change the background picture, blogspot give you lots of pictures and devide it in defferent categories such as if your blog is related with business you can choose Business category and you will find lots of pictures related with business and in the same way if you select family the pictures will be related with family etc

If you want to change the main color theme you can do it from here, if you change your blog color and later on want to restore your previous style, just come here and click on "Use default background and colors? its so easy.

If you want to change the width of your blog, such as if you want to give more space to your postings rather than to give the right side column, you can do it from here.

Changing Layout of your blog is one of the Best feature of blogspot, if you want to change Layout just come to that area, here you will see different blog layouts, such as with no columns, with one right side column, with three column, etc.

Last option is Advance, in that screen you can realy change the look of your blog, you can change each and every thing in your blogs, it will show you each category such as Page texts, backgrounds, Links, Blog Title, Blog Description etc if you can click on Link then the next option is Font Style you can give diffent  styles of fonts to your blogs, if you want to Bold the Link you can do it from here, if you want to increase the size of Link you can do it from here, next option is Colors, you can give any color in the boxes to your Links, select the attractive color which are more suitable with your blog colors because its very neccessary that you can choose the colors in such a way that your readers can find the things easily and comfort to read your postings easily, more colorful site simetimes will ruin your visitor

Blog Stat

If you want to analyze your blog that how much readers can visit your blog, from where they belong, which operating system they are using etc.

Goto dashboard - Stat, there are four option (overview, posts, traffic source, audience).

If you click on All time and just above from it click on audiance the above screen will be appear, in the above screen a complete report of your blog will  shown, in which you can see from where where people visited your blog, in above screen you will see that from canada 538 visitors visited that blog, and on right side on top it shows the internet browsers persentage such as 1 percent of visitors used Opera browser to open your blog. and in bottom on right side it gives you information about operating systems.

If you click on day and above from it click on overview it will show you how which posts are readed today, what was the sources, from where people came to this site, how much people visited yesterday, how much people visited in one month, and how much visited ptill the site was published.

If you click on day and Posts, it will show you which posts are visited today, in the same way if you click on All time and then click on Post it will show you how much people visited from  the day the blog was created.

If you click on day and then click on Traffic Source it will show you the Referring URLs from where people visited to your site, which are the web sites from where visiters can visit to your blogs, and if they came to your site through search engines which key words they used to find your blog

Thus with the help of Blog stat you can analyze your blog traffic and find the ways to get more traffic to your blog.

Blog Postings Options

If you want to show time, date, your locations, comments on your postigs, share button with your postings, how much posts display on your main page, quick edit option, you can do all these settings from the above screen, you can rearrange these options by dragging them.

Edit HTML in Blogspot

Remember that if you know about web page  designing and know about HTML then you can edit your blog through HTML editing, this is a good idea that first of all you must download your blog template so that if you edit your blog wrongly you can easily recover it from Hard drive. Blogger offer you to use old templates that was used before, and you can choose these old templetes from bottom of the above screen, it is neccessary to know that you cannot use new features such as template designs etc with old templates.

If you click on Select Layout Template, you will see the above templetes on your screen and you can choose template for your blog from here, remember that all these templates are old one.

Page Elements

If you want to add Gadgets, HTML Codings, Copyright, Poll, post settings, goto Dasshboard and in Design you will see the above screen, the first option is Navbar you can change Navbar of your blog which will be display on top of your blog.

In Second Option you can give your blog title and in Description you can give information about your blog, remember that in Description give a brief and comprehensive infomation about your blog so that your visitors can know about your blog. you can add a pic either from HD or from net also to display on your blog, if you want to shrink your text you can do it from here.

The third option is Gadegts, if you click on Gadgets you will add lots of intereing things in your blog such as you can add pages, adsense, papular post, follow me, HTML codes, Videos, etc

At bottom of your blog there is an option to configure attribution, you can give copyright messange here also

Permissions

Permission option is one of the best feature in blogspot, its mean that you can manage your blog with the help of other friends or with othe hired person, first option in that screen is Blog Author its mean that this blog have only one author with the rights of Admin, through add author you can add upto 100 authors, if you want to maintain a blog with 3 people then you can add your Id and add 2 other ids, and they must be have the admin privileges.

The second option is another good feature of blogspot, through it you can restrict other people from accessing your blog, thus you can limit the people to visit your blog, in Blog reader first option is Any Body, which allow people on web to access and read your blog, the second one is used if you want to allow only the people you know to access your blog, and the third one is useful if you want that only the blog authors can read it.

Open Id

Open id is use if you want to signin on other blogs which allow Openid user to comment, you can also allow other users to comment on your blog using Openid.

Mobile Template and Email Notification

If you want that people can see your blog on their mobiles, then use this option, the first option shows you a mobile template if you select No it will show you the web version of your blog on mobile phone.

Second option is Email notification, which is used if you want that after any post in your blog, an email will be generated to the addresses which you will give in email notificatin area, remember that each email must be seperated with comma and you can give upto 10 email adresses only.

Third option is used if you want to update your blog through email, there are 3 options in it. first one is used when you want to publish it immetiately, second option is used if you want to save it as a draft and later on publish it on blog, third option is used to disable it.

If you want to add your mobile device in blogspot goto Settings - Email & Mobile, you will get the above screen, Remember that if you are living inside USA and want to add your mobile then you will be able to do it easily from here, but if you are living outside USA then you must first register your self for MMS. If you want to register your devises simply message to the following number 256447 and wait for few minutes, you will receive a message for registration, remember that you must be registered cell phone user in regard to register yourself with blogspot.

Site Feed

If you enable site feed then your blog will present on net as machine readerable. This option is use if you want to inform your readers about your blog updates, special softwares such as feed readers, news readers, will scan your site and let your readers to know about your blog updates.

 You will allow these sofwares to scan all your blog by choosing full, or short to scan only few lines of your post or choose the none option.
